Pulmonary and Critical Care Physician
Dr. Peterson is board-certified in internal medicine and pulmonary medicine. He currently practices in Norwich and Waterford Connecticut with Pulmonary Physicians of Norwich and attends in the intensive care unit at Backus hospital. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering and Material Science in 2012 at the University of Connecticut before attending the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, Graduating in 2016. He subsequently served in the US Navy and completed his internal medicine training at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth, Virginia in 2021. He assumed his current position in the summer of 2026 after graduating from fellowship training at Yale University in New Haven where he also earned a Master of Health Sciences degree from the Yale School of Medicine in clinical informatics and data science. His research interests are in the use of real-world clinical data to improve understanding of current care practices and outcomes and inform efforts to improve patient care.
Critical care medicine provided within the medical intensive care unit. Interventions provided include infusions to increase blood pressure and the use of mechanical ventilators.
Diseases of the lungs and breathing such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, or lung fibrosis.
Comprehensive general adult medical care both in the primary care setting and hospital setting.
